ADSM is awarded a research grant on “Developing the UAE Gifted & Talented (G&T) Ecosystem”

ADSM is pleased to announce that the Ministry of Education, UAE has approved a research grant of half a million Dirhams (500,000 AED) for the project titled ” Eschew Brain drain and nurture brain bank in UAE – Lessons from US and European Countries ”  Dr. Hasnan Baber is the Principal Investigator along with the team consisting of Prof.  Fanea Ivanovici Mina, Bucharest University of Economic Studies, Romania, and Dr. Madhusudan Singh, Oregon Institute of Technology (Oregon Tech), USA as Co-Principal Investigators.  As the UAE has been at the forefront of the innovation and sustainability race and makes every effort to have a workforce that will help them achieve Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) by 2030. The proposed research project aims to learn from the policies of the US and selected European countries to understand the facets of the gifted, talented, and innovative (GTI) ecosystem that these countries are offering. The project will take the inputs from the stakeholders of these policies (both policymakers and beneficiaries) from the US, and European countries and compare it with the current policies of the UAE government to retain the GTI workforce. The outcomes of this research will improve policy design and will benefit all society members while maintaining the UAE in the top countries attracting and retaining a talented workforce.

This project is a clear sign of ADSM’s ambition to become a research-lead organization in the UAE and the Middle East, providing a unique pathway for students to become creative leaders, entrepreneurs, and productive members of the community. One of the strategic goals of ADSM is to develop knowledge, based on basic and applied research in various fields of study. A major element of ADSM’s vision and mission is to encourage research that has practical application for both economy and society at large. Professor Abdullah El-Kwafi Abonamah, President of ADSM, said: I strongly believe that the research grant will create new opportunities for our students to be part of a gifted, talented, and innovative (GTI) ecosystem and will provide policy solutions that support UAE efforts to attract and retain talented young people.
